The Tweed Heads PCYC was officially opened in March 1993 taking over the operation of the community run Twin Towns Youth Club which commenced operation in 1971.
2006 was a significant year in the history of the Club with a $1.6 million facility redevelopment project being undertaken (see Facilities).
The Club services young people and the wider community in the Tweed and Southern Gold Coast areas with:
* a range of sporting and recreational activities including badminton, basketball, boxing, gymnastics, kindy gym, martial arts(judo, daito ryu, aikido and seniors self defence), hip hop dancing, yoga,music (concert/swing band & wind instrument tuition) and weights gym
* educational programs including the Traffic Offenders Program and Partnerships in Learning (alternate schooling) program
* Child care services- outside school hours care consisting of after school care (including bus picks from 4 local primary school) and vacation care.
* Youth entertainment- Discos and band nights
* Crime prevention and youth development services - case management of young offenders, personal development program for at risk young people, youth leadership (state-wide PCYC Star program)
* weekly markets every Sunday
* special events/fundraising activities including Charity Golf Day and Time for Kids * community pre-school also operates out of the PCYC facility.
