Check out other Learner Drivers who have attended the Safer Driver Course, and how it has had a positive influence on their learning to drive experience. Transport for NSW have provided the video below.
The Safer Drivers Course for Learner Drivers is a combined theoretical and practical course.
The three-hour theoretical session involves a facilitated group session discussing how to manage risks on the road. This session is followed by a two-hour tailored in-car coaching session addressing individual learning needs.
The course assists with preparing learner drivers for driving alone - the time in their driving careers when they are most prone to crashing. Learners will also develop actions plans to continue with their practice and learning after the course and will learn about identifying hazards and managing risks.
What benefits will learner drivers who complete the course receive?
Learners who successfully complete the course will:
- Gain important road safety skills
- Reduce their risk of being involved in a crash
- Receive 20 hours of credit toward their logbook
- FREE PCYC membership
Which learner drivers are eligible for the course?
Learner drivers will need to hold a valid NSW learner licence and have completed 50 Logbook hours (of actual on road experience) to be eligible for the course.
Is there a cost?
There will be a course fee of $140.00 per Learner for attending the course.
