PCYC BlueStar Youth Leadership Program

 

Provides leadership training & development pathways  

Involves young people in the decision making of the organisation at the highest levels 

Rewards young people who make significant changes to their PCYC or Community 

 

Learning Outcomes

 1. Understanding & practice of the PCYC Star Values (Citizenship, Commitment, Integrity, Resilience and Respect).

2. Establishing and developing self confidence and trust among peers

3. Develop new ways of communicating, using stories, movement, gesture, music and words

4. Learning teamwork and coordination

5. Learn about working with others in a team to achieve goals

6. Develop positive relationships within the community

7. Understanding strategies for problem solving

8. Learn the importance of asking for support when required

9. Have the experience of being successful in overcoming challenges

10. Have the opportunity to think of mistakes as learning situations

11. Demonstrate skills in the areas of emergency evacuation, Senior First Aid, OH&S and being able to identify and respond to children 'at risk'.

Program Content

To complete this program participants will need to complete four (4) modules each involving a range of activities and challenges in addition to a club project implemented at your local PCYC with the support of an adult sponsor.

The program is fully funded by PCYC.
