The Sutherland Shire PCYC is a partnership between the community and the NSW Police. PCYC aims to encourage young people to be active in life. We offer a number of different programs to people in our community in the main areas of education, sport and recreation, culture, life skills and outreach work. | ||
HistoryIn 1963 Senior Constable Ian Gibson and Councillor Maurie Keane discussed the possibility of establishing a Police-Citizens Club within the Shire. A substantial donation from the Council and Sutherland United Services Club made the project a reality and in 1968 the building was commenced. Sutherland Shire Police and Community Youth Club was first opened on the 29th May 1969 by the Shire President, Councillor Arthur Gietselt. | ||
