The LA Program has been designed to combat rising levels of Pacific Islander related Gang Violence within the Mount Druitt / Blacktown LGA.
The LA program will begin with a one-day workshop for mentors who will be taught mentoring skills. (Managing Angry Adolescents Differently) workshop held at Mt Druitt PCYC over a four week period of two-hour sessions per week in the evenings.

This will be followed by a two-day relationship building event held at Vission Valley Conferrence and Recreational Centre. This will be held from 12pm Friday to 12pm Saturday. The participants will be introduced to their mentors, and paired up with them, for some relationship building activities.

The following monday will begin with th eight week, two day a week, program. From 9am to 12pm participants will be taught the six point mentoring plan with mentors. After lunch each day participants will be taken to different community welfare agencies where they will volunteer their skills and services as a way of addressing civic responsibility and community capacity building.

One day of every second week will be a relationship building with their mentors and mentees from 1pm to 4pm.

At the end of the program mentors will still be open to maintaining contact with their mentees, as a relationship will be established for further follow up. Less
